On one of our recent post volcano visits to Iceland we came across a refreshingly different dining experience. At Fish Market or Fismarkadurinn as the locals say... the local fishing traditions are fused with inspiration from Asia. The result is delicately fresh caught fish prepared in an unusual way. The interior design is dark and cozy accented by bamboo. Go for the tasting menu, it is good value for money and a nice way to spend an evening in Reykjavik. (Oh and the tasting menu does not only consist of fish, we had some lamb as well).

Heart shaped mussels with sea weed and a fresh squeeze of lemon.
