WE HAVE JUST BEEN TO: Phuket, part 3 TRISARA

On the wilder north-west coast of Phuket, we fell in love with Trisara. Here is the place to experience total bliss – a night swim in your own pool overlooking the sea. No need for bathing wear. You have total privacy.

The villas are built on a slope, sheltered by palms and tropical vegetation, which is why they all offer sea views as well as privacy. This is your royal hideaway, spreading over 240 sqm including a 90 sqm air-conditioned bedroom, 10 sqm infinity pool, teak decks and garden. Two bedroom pool villas take up 300 sqm of space. The category “pool suite” is more compact. For large families there are also 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom residences that offer kitchens.

Your own pool and deck with privacy and views

Idyllic tropical life continues down by the sea. The centre of everything is the vast teak deck among the coconut palms over the beach. Here breakfast, lunch and dinner all happen. And the bar spills down the slope to this communal living space.

We were delighted with our Thai meal and found it quite affordable. Of course, we could just as well have eaten international…

The beach is sheltered between rainforests and rocks. It is a serene place, much appreciated by the sea turtles, who are at last, again, returning guests to Trisara. If you are lucky, from the large pool down by the beach you can see them laying their eggs. The pool area is a pleasant place to be, with or without turtles.

We had no time to try snorkeling, but heard it is good at an offshore reef and an island. Trisara is not just a beach haven. Here you can also enjoy golf and tennis.

For after-sport pampering – Trisara features a spa serenely high on the hillside, offering body wraps, scrubs, facials and a wide selection of massages including a six hand massage by three therapists. You can also have a massage in your private kingdom – your pool villa.

Then we shouldn’t forget yoga and meditation in the tranquil pavilion down by the water.
Nature is king at Trisara. Here among ancient rainforest trees, the keynote is “eco”. To keep out man-made poisons is paramount. For this reason they do not even oil the timber that you see everywhere, which thus has a quiet and natural look.

Rustic chic. The mood at Trisara is relaxed, trendy and luxurious with courteous staff and cheerful management. All in all a great atmosphere…
