HOTEL CHECK GREECE, part 8, Kyrimai

Kyrimai is a remote resort, a hidden gem. This exquisitely renovated stone building from 1870 has a fantastic seafront location perched on the rocks, which are washed by beautiful clear water.  Accommodation is charming and rustic while service is 5 star.

We recommend that you combine this hotel with other Select Collection hotels on a self-drive itinerary to enjoy the wild and rugged beauty of this area. This spot lies on the Peloponnese at Mani, where the Ionian sea meets the Aegean. Our Select team included it in their recent tour of our new Select Collection hotels in Greece (see previous blogs).

There are 22 inviting rooms and suites, some with Jacuzzi. We particularly liked the Superior Sea View, Junior Suite and Loft Suite. Our top favourite is the Superior Sea View on the 1st Floor, room 309.

Food & Beverage

Excellent food!  Gourmet Greek.

Breakfast by the sea

No spa or gym but a nice outdoor swimming pool. There is no beach but you can swim from the pier, which has stairs into the clear water. The closest beach is 30 mins. No water sports. Local restaurants and shops 5 mins away.

Sunbeds by the sea as well as the infinity pool

How to get to Kyrimai

Athens by car 4 hours. Kalmata International Airport 2 hours. We recommend self drive.

Who to stay

Not a family destination, more for couples and nature lovers. No children over the age of 13 years. Note The hotel will best be enjoyed by self drive guests.

You should know

Very steep and narrow stairs leading up to some rooms. Sounds of music/traffic till late at night.

This hotel is one of the Yades Greek Historic Hotels featured in our Select Collection.
