HOTEL CHECK SPAIN, part 3, St Regis Mardavall

This hotel is famous for its immaculate service and family-friendly hospitality. St Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort looks out over the sea, just 10 minutes walk from Portals Nous, a marina with luxury boats, restaurants, bars and shops. To get to the seaside you walk down a little slope. This isn’t really a spot for sunbathing – however the water is really clear and a good place for swimming. The closest beach is 2 km.

We stayed in a junior suite with garden view (overlooking the kids club).  Nice for families (2 adults and 1 child) as the parents can relax on the terrace and watch the children playing at the kids club. The room is a good size and the terrace is 13sqm! We really like the style of the rooms, understated luxury, which gives the feeling of home away from home.

As the hotel was running at full occupancy we did not get to see any other rooms. Altogether there are 44 rooms & 89 suites, all with private terrace. 70% of the rooms are interconnecting, with the majority being suites. The minibar bill could add up for a family – 6.50 euro for a can of Coca Cola.

Food & beverage

There are 5 restaurants/bars at St. Regis. For dinner we ate at Aqua – a casual Mediterranean restaurant. Each night they have a different theme, which is great for guests who are staying for 1-2 weeks as it offers variety. This restaurant is perfect for families and at the buffet you go and help yourself to the food. We paid 70 euro per person for the buffet.
Es Fum restaurant is fantastic – this is the gourmet restaurant with 1 Michelin star. I would recommend this for a romantic meal. Very intimate restaurant and you can experience 6/8/10 course tasting menu.  Ask Select to prebook this for you as this can get booked up in advance.

Champagne sabering - St Regis style

Every evening at 7pm there is a traditional St. Regis champagne sabering event at Es Vent lobby bar.

The spa has indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, steam rooms, salt baths, Japanese relaxation garden with waterbeds and of course fitness centre and treatment rooms. We didn’t have any treatments but we did use the other facilities. The best part was relaxing on the waterbed in the Japanese garden.

There are two outside pools, one that leads into an indoor pool, a kids pool and kids club.

Golf is a big attraction. The property owns four golf courses and provides a free shuttle for guests. For boat enthusiasts, the hotel concierge can arrange rental of a luxury boat for day trips etc from the marina.

How to get to St Regis Mardavall

Approx transfer time from Palma de Mallorca International Airport 20 mins.

Who to stay

Great for families. The kids club is definitely a selling point.

You should know

Don't expect low prices in the restaurants in a five star hotel on Mallorca - but the standard here is fantastic.
