A firm favourite of Select clients for many years, Royal Mirage is a classic property that continues to impress year after year.
The newly renovated pool here is where we spent most of our time. Look one way to the blue waters of the gulf, look the other way to see the towering skyscrapers all around you that showcase Dubai’s rise to prominence over the last decade…and look the other to see your ever watchful pool attendant serving you ice cold fruit pieces and water to keep you cool.
Of the three different accommodation options (all situated along the private beachfront) we stayed in an Executive Suite on the ground floor of The Palace.
An advantage of booking a Suite is that you have guaranteed sun loungers and a pool cabana every day so there is no need to worry about making an early start to your days sun bathing.
As expected from a property of this ilk you can find numerous top class restaurants, spa, watersports and land based activities plus kids club all on your doorstep. A favourite of ours was the Jetty.
And if you can tear yourself away from the hotel there is a regular complementary speedboat service taking you to sister property One&Only The Palm (3 Michelin start chef Yannick Alléno’s STAY restaurant is perfect for a very special occasion) as well as family favourite Aquaventure waterpark and The Lost Chambers aquarium at Atlantis The Palm hotel.
