HOTEL CHECK ITALY, Four Seasons Milano

One of our ceaseless weekend travellers, Ann Jurk, talks about an indulgent weekend at our hotel gem in Milan amidst the city's stunning cultural treasures...

Arrival in style - of course

Flying with SAS to Milano (Linate) takes around 2.5 hours from Stockholm, perfect for a short weekend holiday. We pre-booked the transfer and were picked up in a gorgeous Mercedes E.  The drive only took 15 minutes to The Four Seasons and with the Wi-Fi in the car the trip felt even faster.

Annalisa Corti and her lovely team welcomed me on arrival.

Rennaissance treasures, food and high fashion

Four Seasons Milano is a really old (15th century) charmer with a perfect location in the most fashionable shopping districts of Milano. You can also easily take a walk to the beautiful Dome or the famous Church of Santa Maria to see Leonardo Da Vinci's The last Supper.

In this area you have a lot of nice restaurants. If you book a table at Giacomo Arengario you have the best view over the Dome, just beautiful!

I can also recommend Tredici Giugno, a traditional Italian restaurant with a touch of luxury.

If you would like to eat at a very trendy place you should book a table at Ceresio 7, here you sit inside or outside on a roof terrace surrounded by pools and the food is fabulous. All these restaurants were recommended by lovely Leornardo Bruscagin, responsible for the concierge at Four Seasons Milano.

Calm in the city

We stayed in a superior room with a view over the garden; and you don’t feel that you are in the middle of a city. The room is really spacious which is very unusual for Milan. All the hotel rooms have the same spacious bathrooms with separate shower and bathtubs. The room had a large writing desk and you also had cosy sitting area.

Altogether the hotel has 118 rooms and suites all dressed to please.

The American buffet breakfast was delicious and the breakfast a l a carte was something extra; one could sit for hours eating a breakfast like that. I also need to mention their amazing orange juice.

Breakfast to delight

The lounge area and bar is elegant and has a luxurious feeling. Even if you don’t stay at Four Seasons I think you should consider a stop for a drink in the bar, Il Foyer.

The staff working at The Four Seasons Milano are all really friendly and helpful.

Fun workout at the gym

After a morning in the gym and hours of shopping and walking it was lovely to take my book and a glass of rose champagne and go down to the new SPA. You don’t feel at you are in the middle of Milano. You are just embedded in peace and luxury at Four Seasons SPA Milano.

I was also happy that Lars Herrmann, Sales Manager for Four Seasons Maldives and Langkawi was in Milano during my stay. We had a nice talk in Il Foyer.

A lovely surprise...

Before departure on Sunday I was invited to try the hotel's famous brunch. Please book a late flight home so you are able to have this experience. I don’t want to tell too much because this should be a surprise.
